Peeking Daisy card

This fortnight the challenge over at Less is More is Flowers with the One Layer requirement too.

I wanted to use a set with built a flower thing, I thought I had from My Favorite Things, but I don't actually have it, looked at it a lot on  sale, but never got it.

So I got busy this weekend and been thinking what to do and decided on this design.

Instead of stamping flowers I diecut it from the cardbase, as it's one layer I added interest on the inside, to keep it looking good I stamped the interest instead of swiping the inkpad or inblending, I would have needed to make a mask to make it look good.

I stamped the sentiment on the cardfront with the same Memento inks: Angel Pink and Rose Bud., the sentiment is from My Favorite Things Bitty Birthday Wishes.

The inside is stamped with Marianne Design Eline's Brushes (EC0162)

The Dais is from Simon Says Stamp Peeking Daisy and I cut it from the cardbase, it's very fragile so I might add a piece of vellum or acetate, so I have glue down the daisy, not sure yet.

AAA CArds Challenge #241: Hot and or Cold Drinks

Hello, this fortnight the AAA Card Challenge is all about drinks, hot or cold, Sue chose the theme.

I went for hot coffee. For my card I inkblended Coffee Stains with the Time For Tea stencil (aptly named Coffee Stains Stencil ), I've used Distress inks, Tea Dye and Ground Espresso.

My Yeti is from Impronte D'Autore and I stamped him with My Favorite Things Extreme Black ink and fussy cut him out, then colored him with Copic Markers, mounted it with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

The sentiment is from Create a Smile Stamps:  Something Sweet stampset and I 've used Versafine Vintage Sepia to stay with the coffee stains, I Like my sentiments black, but this made more sense.

Mad Scientist Toby

Hello, this week I made a get well card, if you're brave enough to take the remedy from a Mad Scientist that is...

The image is from Whimsy Stamps , from the Some Odd Girl Digi: Mad Scientist Toby.

I think it could be a girl too, esp with the lilac hair and orange boots...somehow she reminds me a little of comedian Ruby Wax, maybe I should have done red hair?

I added the sentiment, I thought was funny, I made it, added it while prepping the image on the computer., I also flipped the image to look the other side, that's why I love digistamps so much.

I printed the image onto Markers safe paper and colored it with my Graphit Brush markers to get into the tiny corners.

Cut the panel smaller to make a matte with a nice border and then adhered it to the cardbase.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Store: https://whimsystamps.com/products/mad-scientist-tobie-digital-stamp?_pos=3&_sid=5531fa3a1&_ss=r

Programmed to party!

Hello, today I've used a new digi from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike: Toy Bot.

I prepped the sentiment and image  and then printed it and colored it with Graphit Brush markers.

The sentiment is made up, doesn't come with the digi, but I thought it went with a robot.

Dustin is a big Mickey Mouse or Disney fan and so I made the shoes yello and the hands look like white gloves, thought that was fun.

Mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase. Some white gel pen details.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Store:  https://whimsystamps.com/collections/dustin-pike-digital-images/products/toybot-digital-stamp

Wish Big

Hello, today I'm showing you a card with the Ellie Summer Squares from Whimsy Stamps and the Crissy Armstrong line.

The sentiment is from the Bev Rochester  line also available on Whimsy Stamps.

I prepped the image and sentiment  on the PC and printed the panel with my laserprinter and colored it with Copic Markers. As my printer is faulty and prints on a slant, I straitghtened the panel out by making it in to a matte, which is rather cute.

Ellie  Summer Square is available as a digi set or a  rubber cling stamps.

AAA Card Challenges: #240 Pink Birthday

Hello, this fortnight we're celebrating AAA's Card 9th Birthday and we're going all pink!

Can you make it  a CAS and Pink Birthday Card? I love pink but I found it challenging with my supplies. I took hollyhock dies, I think from the Crafter's Companion Advent Calendar I got once, but I am not entirely sure.

I used watercolours on a bit of watercolour card, let it dry, then cut out the flowers.

I diecut a circle from a panel and traced the opening on a cardbase and applied Distress inks in a variety of pinks and what ever was left on my ink blending brush, Spun Sugar, Kitch Flamingo,  Picked Raspberry, i've tried to fade it out to the top left side, so it might be a whole field of pink hollyhocks.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted  (Tiny Type) and I've used Versafine black ink.

Mounted the panel with foam tape and adhered in to the cardbase and then tucked the Hollyhocks behind the opening, making sure the stick out at the top.

Less is More challenge: Spring

The new challenge at Less is More is: Spring.

For my card I used images from Paperie Ink, both from Hello Spring and Bunny talk.

Masked off an area and applied Distress inks: Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron with what ever was left on the brushes.

Colored the images with Copic Markers, then I mounted the bunnies with foamtape and the  forget me not flowers with liquid glue.

Adhered everything to the cardbase.

I don't really send out Spring card, there's a sentiment like it in the set, I will add a  sentiment when I know what the card is for, probably Happy Birthday ;-) or Hoppy Birthday as they're bunnies and they hop....

Caramel is not a hugger

As you may or may not know I really like punny cards  and Caramel is a perfect fit.

I went with Happy Birthday from the Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips set, mostly cos I didn't know what else to use or I didn't have it as a stamp.

Like : Sorry I was Crabby"  Sorry, not sorry"  even here's a plant for your home,so glad we're neighbors,  free hugs etc...

You can use- this image for many occasions to be honest.

I printed the digi, cut it out and colored  it with Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink.

I cut a mask from masking paper with the Boho basic circles and adhered the mask to a cardbase. I tried to splatter as closely to the edge of the mask, this  ensures you can see the shape, weather it's a bit wonky, I'm not sure you can tell that, but it's neatly contained. I've used all sorts of matching metallic paint.

Goth Doll - Birthday

Hello, today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps Digi: Goth Doll -boy from the Dustin Pike line.

I printed the digi, cut it out and then colored it with Copic markers.

I thought a green dog might be  a nod towards the Frankenstein Monster and then kept the boy a rather "normal"skin color, I almost went for a greenish grey, but I went for the dog instead, as it might be a  stuffed toy and it even has the bolts like the monster.

For the background I used the Happy Birthday from the Simple Sentiment Strips, also  Whimsy Stamps. and I wanted a sort of  torn look, like a claw ripped the cardbase.

To achieve this I ripped pieces of masking paper and applied Distress inks (Lost Shadow) and splattered it with Black Soot. I also wanted it very faint and Lost Shadow is perfect for this. I know how red splatter might look, and so went for black, also seemed more boyish to me.

Mounted the digi with foamtape and adhered it to the card, and I added some details with a white gel pen.

AAA Birthday Card Challenges May 2023: Balloons

Hello, this month we're all about balloons, I went with Birthday Balloons , but what about a Hot air balloon? or Balloon animals? Weather balloon? I don't know can you think of others? Not sure Weather balloons is very birthday likem byut hey...

My card wasn't really coming together, this is the 4th version I think and frankly I would have been happier with just the Panda image with the sentiment, but is that at all festive?

Made a balloon like background ( a few times) by inkblending Distress inks onto the cardbase. The first  version was Wilted Violet, Marmaid Lagoon and Mowed Lawn, it was tricky to get the  colors from going muddy. So I tried it again with warm colors..didn't like it, then I decided to do a rainbow in rainbow order and that didn't give me mud :-)the Chipped Sapphire was a later addition as I didn't notice my balloons were dropping to the right and I wanted it to look random(ish) and I also wanted them to be overlap so they'd feel transparent.

Panda image is from Marianne design (EC0179) and I stamped it with Versafine to get a nice bold impression, then I was left with the balloon. I decided to color it with Spectrum Noir Glitter ink, on normal paper, because of the Versafine Ink I  couldn't color it with alcohol markers. After that I cut it out with the coordinating dies in the set.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) again, I just love it, couldn't get it straight so I stamped it on the slant on purpose.
