It's Autumn

It's Autumn, so I'm coloring a cat instead of a fox ;-) I had to, sorry I know it's  a fox, or should be, but he looked like my cat Tjeerd, and I thought that's a nice idea , so I did.
the Autumn Banner is a digi from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike line

I printed it on Copic safe paper and big enough for a slimline card, made the cardbase and then matted the imagepanel, stuck int on top with taperunner and colored the image with Copic Markers and details of white gel pen.
It's as simple as that sometimes, thought about cutting it out and mounting it onto kraft cardstock, but I really like how the images pop or shine.

Pumpkin Patch

Hello, Today I'm using TWO digis from the latest Whimsy Stamps digi release: Restful Hedgehog and Pick of the Patch.

You can find them here: https://whimsystamps.com/collections/newest-digital

I flipped the Restful Hedgehog so they face each other, I thought it was nicer and  and it frames the scene on my slimline card.

Printed it out, and colored it with my alcohol markers, adhered it to a cardbase with taperunner.

Didn't think it needed a sentiment as it says so on the signs.

AAA Card Challenges #249 and DT call!

Hello, this
fortnight we'd like to see any CAS (clean and simple) cards made with galaxies, planets, Northern Lights,  Night Sky, just look up basically.

For my card I've used a Bugaboo Stamps digi: Martians, sadly  Bugaboo Stamps is out of business rn an extended break, but there's many others across the industry.

I've contemplated making my own galaxies as I've done before, but I came across this Craft Sensations 12x12 paper pad and it's actually supposed

to be a Christmas one, but I loved it for the moody skies and stars and so I cut one done for my Space. Finding the right bit and shape proved  a challenge as I wanted one bit with a nebula first and cut is with a wonky  oval like shape , but I didn't like it it was too narrow and long and the image would actually cover the Nebula.

so after a few tries , I decided to just cut a strip to go  across the cardbase and glued is down.

I printed my digi and cut it out, then colored it with Graphit Brush markers and Spectrum Noir. I thought a yellow star didn't go with the background,. so I went Blue giant star color and Martians are green aren't they? Mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the card, slathered the star with Nuvo Shimmer pen and then slathered some of that shimmer onto the galaxy too.

The sentiment is from Whiimsy Stamps (Simple sentiment Strips) and I stamped it with Versafine ink.

To play along the AAA Card Challenges, see this.

Swinging into Fall

Hello, today I've used a new digi image from the latest Whimsy Stamps release.

It's called Fox Swing and it's from the Dustin Pike range.

I've printed the digi and cut it out, then measured it to make a window in a cardpanel and diecut the window. Traced the opening onto the cardbase, so I knew where to inkblend Distress inks: I've used many yellows and oranges and some  Lumberjack Plaid.

Thought it could looks like leaves that have turned and I tried to match the colors of the leaves on the swing to the background. I've colored the digi with many brands of alcohol markers, so I could best match the portion inside the swing ropes and the Fox's fur

then added a few dots of white gelpen for shine

Mounted the winowed panel with foamtape and the foc as well, just on the row of leaves I  used tape.

No sentiment (yet) as I wasn't sure Swinging into Fall is appropriate or not.

Aren't you proud I made an actual fox out of him and not a black cat? again haha..anyway it's a lot of browns and oranges and I was worried the fox wouldn't stand out, but it does and he looks so happy..hmm Happy Fall might be  nice, oh well

Witch please!

Hello, today I have a card for you using the latest digital release from Whimsy.

The digistamp is called With and is from the Dustin Pike line.

It's also Deb Davis' Birthday today and Halloween is her most favorite time of the year, so I hope you have a magical Birthday Deb!

#whimsystampsbirthdaygirldeb

I printed it, cut it out and colored the Witch with all the brands of alcohol marker I have, added white gel details and mounted the image with foam tape, set it aside.

At first I really wanted to use this (made it earlier) background, but found it hard to set an image in front. tried to add the Cat silhouette die, but turns out my Witch was to big, tried a white panel, to make it easier to add a sentiment, but white for Halloween?  nope.

The sentiment is also Whimsy , but a  physical stampset: Create Magic and I stamped it with Versafine black ink.

Mounted the strip with foamtape to cover up the botched one I already stuck down prior to adding heat.

I think the purple "floor" helps to ground the image and personally I wouldn't mind a purple rug or a teal one.

The background is black cardstock splattered with metallic watercolors for shimmer that I don't think you can see in the photo. There's gold, purple and teal and was meant to be some sort of night sky with stars, but I didn't think it looked Milky Way enough....but now it's perfect for my Halloween Birthday Card!

In Dutch there's a saying: Wie wat bewaart, heeft wat" Means something like "if you keep it,  you'll have it"(when you need it)..When I first started I saved everything, but now I'm more of a mindset it's just paper and a bit of ink, I'll live, but when you start crafting everything is precious and expensive, I get it, I have enough glitter, sequins, paper , embossing powder for the rest of my life, one bit of card means less now ;-)

But  I found a use for it, so it didn't go into the recycle bin, so yay!

I think the little Witch is also cute enough for "I put a spell on you", she seems shy or giggling with the hand in front of her mouth, something enchanted? I rummaged through my stampsets and thought Magic is their "thing", you can go so many directions, I'm just here to throw ideas at you ;-)

Brains are sexy?

Hello, today I'm showing you what I made with the new Digi Frank 2, of course from the Whimsy Stamps shop and Dustin Pike.

For my card, I printed the digi, cut him out and colored him with alcohol markers, then added some white gel pen details  and mounted him with foamtape; set it aside.

For the pumpkin colored background box, I've inkblended Distress inks: Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon, Crackling Campfire, Lumber Jack plaid for the gradient and I smoothed it out with a layer of Carved Pumpkin.

Some of the ink crept under the masking tape, if you can see it, it's on purpose, otherwise..never mind ;-) ahum

I made the box smaller so Frank sticks out, I like that.

I thought orange is Halloween and contrasts with the digi.

The sentiment is generated by my brain, thought that went well with Frank carrying brains.

But I looked up some puns as well and something like: What does Dr. Frankenstein call the cemetery?....human resources

Or Why does dr Frankenstein have so many friends?  he builds them....maybe are more Halloween Like, but please do what you like, as always I'm just here to inspire you

Adhered Frank to the cardbase.

Hey cute little monster!

Hello Cute little monster! Today I'm using the Frank 1 digi from the Dustin Pike line, as always from Whimsy Stamps.

I printed the digi, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers, then I added some gel pen details.

For the background , I've masked off an area on the cardbase and added Distress inks: Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky and Weathered wood. Splattered with water and gold glittery paint.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy clear set:Monster Moods and I've stamped it with Versafine ink.

I then mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

Dracula date

Hello, today I'm showing you a card with a cute little iage form the latest Whimsy Stamps Digi Release.

It's from the Dustin Pike line and I just love this little Dracula.

Don't fall for his cuteness though,  because if a Vampire says he wants a bite....you know ;-)..run!

For my card I've printed him and cut him out then colored him with alcohol markers.

I've mounted the image with foamtape.

Printed the sentiment on the cardbase, I made it up, it was inspired by Hannibal I think...where he says I'm having someone for dinner....double meaning for a cannibal ofcourse, and Vampires are known to bite..

Masked the moon and inblended it with Distress inks, I've used Squeezed lemonade, Antique linen, Scattered Straw and what ever was left on my brushes. Spattered with water, the Scattered Straw and some Black soot watered down; I thought it makes it look like the Moon.

Then I mounted the image with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase and finished the card with some white gel pen details for shine.

AAA Card Challenges #248: Add a tag or ticket

Hello, this fortnight we'd like you to add a tag or ticket to a Clean and Simple Card.

My ticket is from Tiim Holtz ( Ideology  #TH93958) and it may or may not be a tad too big, I wanted it to look like a circus ticket and later as if the Elephant is holding it.

The Elephant is from My Favorite Things The Greatest Show set and I stamped it with MFT Extreme Black ink and colored it with Copics, cut it out with the matching dieset.

For the background I masked off a triangle, I thought could be a spotlight, there's a sentiment that would suit that too, but I wanted to reinforce the circus ticket idea, so I went with  another sentiment from the set.

For my spotlight I've used Distress inks, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and  Spiced Marmalade), then splattered it with metallic watercolors in matching colors, so they would catch the light and reflect it.

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and glued the elements on top, mounted the Elephant with foamtape.

AAA Birthday Cards Challenge September 2023: #53 Animals

Hello, this month I've chosen the theme and it's animals.

Our moderator Jane has used cat paws for the badge as I chose the theme and, although tempted, I just couldn't make a cat card just now.

Technically mine are insects but still animals in my opinion.

I've used the bee and ladybug from Marianne Design  and colored them with Graphit Brush alcohol markers., cut them out with the included dies.

For the background I've cut a Hexagon from a cardpanel (Love 2 Craft) and then traced the opening on the cardbase, so I knew where to mask and or inkblend.

I thought the hexagon window, but also the Memory BOX Texture Honey Comb stencil would fit the theme. I've used  Distress inks (Mustard Seeds, Spiced Marmalade and Dried Marigold).

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I've stamped it with Versafine ink.

Mounted the panel and bugs with foamtape and adhered them to the cardbase.

Lastly I've added some shimmer with a Nuvo Shimmer pen and details with a white gel pen.
