AAA Cards Challenge #254: Black, White and Gold

Hello, this fortnight we have a color theme, chosen by Tristan and because of the time of the year our badge and my card feature these colors in ornaments/baubles.

To make the baubles I diecut black cardstock, white glitter cardstock and gold mirrored cardstock, backed with double sided adhesive from Marianne Design LR0014, any will doe, it makes the diecuts into stickers and this brand or tape diecuts beautifully.

My ornaments or baubles, are from Avec Creative (Love 2 Craft available at Action in the Netherlands). I got them last year and they sold out pretty quickly, but again if you like the look and have others, there's many across the industry.

I  have another idea for this theme, might make a second card, you'll see it here if I do ;-).

I've used the packaging to see hiw to layer the embellishments , but also chose other bits and bobs, just to stagger the colors. I wasn't sure about black as a Christmas card, but it looks rather stylish and the glitter and shiny gold make it more festive.

It was hard to take a photo as my cardbase is also white, I hope you don't mind.

The sentiment is from Clearly  Besotted and I stamped it with Versafine black ink.

For my second idea, I watercolored a black gradient and added embossing paste with Perfect pearls in gold (Sunflower Sparkle), then I thought if I wanted it to look like fireworks, why not do a black cardbase, which turned into a panel and a bit left over, could be another card

Thestencil is from Stamperia KSTDL51, embossing paste is Ranger clear gloss transparent; sentiment from Uniko (simply said block Christmas, I then had trouble liking the white rim and well I probably should have stuck to the one card ;-)

As usual you have 2 weeks to play along and you can find more info or enter your card here

Cinnamon with Pumpkin

Hello, today I'm still in the Autumnal mood, no sentiment as we don't do Thanksgiving here in the Netherlands, well I mean not as a festive thing, we're thankful of course.

I've used the Whimsy Stamps Digi Cinnamon with Pumpkin from the C.C. Designs Line.

I've printed there in Copic paper and colored here with alcohol markers: Copics, and Triblend Markkers too

I've adhered the colored panel to a cardbase, it's as simple sometimes.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Store:

Gourdy's got a friend

Hello, this week, I'm using the Whimsy Stamps Digi: Gourdy and friend, from the Dustin Pike Line.

I printed it and colored it with all the brands of alcohol markers I have at hand .

Matted it onto a cardbase, don't know what kind of sentiment to use, something like Thanks Giving, but I don't seem to have those (we don't celebrate it in the Netherlands)

Also it's a dark and dingy day, so I'm so sorry for the picture, i've tried...

AAA Cards Challenge #253: Fall/Leaves

Hello this fortnight we're all about the Season of Fall, and or leaves, as you can tell by the game badge it's wide open to your interpretation, I chose the color pink mainly.

I really like the little person in her raincoat, I assume it's a girl, but  my hippo could be either.

I chose Clearly Besotted Stamps set Rainy Day Play and I actually colored two of the hippos and there's one with a trenchcoat too, but then I added the background and I felt  it got too full. might add it later though.

The Sentiment is from the same set and the silhouette of the town is the Up My Street Stencil, also Clearly Besotted Stamps. I've used Neenah Desert craft cardstock  and whatever blue was left on one of my blending brushes, just a hint of a scene.

I've also included some of my old garden Clogs I planted when I gave up my vegetable patch or Allotment garden.

Mounted the hippo with foamtape and adhered him on top.

Let is Snow!

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More Challenge blog: Anything CAS goes.

So I went to my precolored bin of images and  pulled out this Moose from Whimsy Stamps' Winter Sports.

Sentiment is from the same set and I stamped it with a blue Card Deco ink.

For the snowbank I cut a wavy line from masking paper and used what ever was left on my blue blending brush for the shadow or definition.

Mounted the moose with foamtape and adhered him on top.

Holiday Cheer

Hello, today I made a card with the Mini Gingerbread Cookie Digital stamp from Some Odd Girl, available at Whimsy Stamps.

I printed it, then colored it with my Copic Markers and cut  it out. Added white gel pen details.

I am not entirely sure, but I thought the green buttons could be colored sprinkles or Smarties, I wonder if it's all icing, kept that for the hair and lines. Blue and green are better with all that reddish brown.

I thought a gingerbread cookie would cheer with hot chocolate, so the sentiment from Dragon New Year ( Also Whimsy Stamps) made sense and I stamped it with a dark blue color to match the night sky.

The background or night sky I made on the cardbase with Distress inks. Twisted CItron and Wilted Violet for the Nebula like things and around it, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire.

I then splattered with water, white paint and a gold glitter paint. Mounted the cookie image with foam tape and adhered it to the card.

AAA Birthday Card Challenges #55: Large Sentiment

Hello, this month we at AAA Birthday Card Challenges are all about the sentiment, a BIG Sentiment.

For my card I've used the Marianne Design alphabet (Col1449), the biggest letter dieset I have and it was actually so big it didn't fit on a normal size card A6 or 4"x6", so I made it a slimline.

I did start on an A6 panel and inkblended a rainbow of Distress inks and then splattered with water, white paint and Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust.

Lined them up as best as possible, always hard with individual elements and raised all the letter with foamtape.

As I cut the A4 cardstock into a slimline size, I always have this panel left, so I thought I should use it and it just fits the letters  in two rows.

I measured the centre of this panel and laid out the letters, then picked them up one by one, mounted them with foamtape and stuck them on the panel. Not perfect, but I'm fine with it actually.

I did try to take the R off and re stick it, but it wasn't budging and, at this point, I really didn't want to mess up, so I left it.

The white on white was a bit Blah, so I also added a black matte, makes the letters pop for sure.

Stuck all of it together, thought about adding some enamel dots, but I didn't think it needed it.

I thought I would have the inkblended panel left to do an opposite card with white letters and a rainbow background, and if I had measured properly I probably might have, but as the Y on Birthday didn't fit in one row, the  panel doesn't work any more.
