AAA Cards Challenge #262: Sketch

Hello, this fortnight we have a sketch again and as always you can rotate or flip the sketch, as long as we can see it.

The first Idea I came up with I veto-ed, I don't like it.

The second card is better, but still not as cool as I saw it in my head.

It was kind of inspired by a recently released Waffle Flower set, don't know the name, but it's mid century like shapes.

So for my card I diecut the "waves"with a slider channel actually, it's from Joy Crafts, but I thought the shape was fun and similar to the WF set...maybe don't have it. seen the Laura Bassen video only. I considered to make three waves, but instead for the third layer I stamped the Happy Birthday from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) in a darker shade.

I wanted to diecut the sun from yellow card, but too  many layer is not as CAS as we like, so I inkblended what ever yellow was left on my brush and I used a Marianne Design Stencil, the sun is quite at the top , so I  flipped the stencil in an effort to elongate the rays, but also to keep them on the left, to ensure max white space. Then I diecut the light house and seagull from Gummiapan, but somehow the lighthouse felt too intricate to me to go with the "waves", thought I's swap it for a palm tree, but the lighthouse and tree are floating mid air, and I  don't know how to fix that  and with the lighthouse it looked better, might be the rays of the sun going all the way down, not sure. But I am sure you can do a better job  with this sketch;)

I feel there's a third card in my future haha

For my 1st Card I've used a Clearly Besotted stencil: Brush Strokes and I applied Distress inks, kind of what was on my brushes, one for water one for grass, but you can do what ever you want.

I thought about embossing the daisies from the sketch with white, but came across my Whimsy Stamps   Build a pond dieset and cut the shapes from white cardstock and adhered them onto the cardbase.

Made a third card by applying Distress inks through a circle mask, in rainbow order and  the added a white gel pen detail as if they were gumballs, I think that's my favorite card so far.

Sentiment is also Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I've used a Card deco blue ink.

Get well bear

Hello, today I've  turned one of the new digis (Sleepy Bear) into a sick bear and a get well card.

I printed the image and coloured it with alcohol markers. Then stippled the onesie with a white gelpen, so it looks like a pattern.

For the cardbase I made a mask with the Whimsy Stamps Boho circle dies and applied Distress inks: Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps also, a clear set: Get well and I stamped them both with Versafine ink  and the acchoo I heat embossed in clear, so it looks wet and yucky.

Cut out the image and mounted him with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

You can find all Whimsy items in their store:

AAA Cards Challenge #261: Anything CAS goes with the option of Spring or Spring Colors

Hello, this fortnight Anything CAS goes and if you can't decide may we suggest the option to make it a Spring (colored) card.

I went Easter with a digi from Gerda Steiner Designs (Kitten in Basket) , printed it on watercolor paper and colored it in with Karen markers, I don't have a lighter grey and I really wanted it to be a white bunny cat, not black like my own and or brown like the basket, so it's shadows are a bit harsher than I'd like, but hey ho...

As my printer likes to do things on a slant, I cut the panel straight and matted it onto a cardbase and then sprayed it with a fixative spray.

AAA Colourful Challenge #2

Hello, this month our challenge  badge is all about violets, and I did go quite literal on that.

I diecut the violets from Marianne Design (LR0649) and coloured them with Distress ink (whatever was left on my ink blending brushes)

The gate (CR1648), the Grass (LR0360),  the circle for the background mask ( CR1543) are all Marianne Design too.

With the circle I made a mask for the cardbase and I applied Distress inks (Villainous Poison and Wilted Violet ;-) ) #SSS20YearsOfDistress  Splattered with water and gold paint.

Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I stamped it in Memento Bamboo Leaves Green.

I then adhered everything to the cardbase with liquid glue or foam tape where needed.

Is it St. Patrick's Day yet?

Hello,  today I'm using the new Whimsy Stamps Dig: Caramel Beer and it gave me St. Patrick's Day Vibes; so my main color is green.

I printed the digi and colored it with alcohol markers and as I wasn't about to cut around all the bubbles and hearts I tried to disguise it  by matching it with the background.

The background is Distress inks I applied through a mask I made , it's a Barba Papa blob like shape.

The sentiment I printed at the same time and cut out, mounted both the image and sentiment with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Store here: https://whimsystamps.com/collections/newest-digital/products/caramel-beer-digital-stamp

I don't drink coffee

Hello, today I wanted to use two new digis from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike:

Caramel Coffee and Caramel Ignores.

I prepped the images  on the pc and I cropped the sentiment that is in between them,

I coy and pasted the I do from I don't and put it on the mug, so one wakes up without coffee and the other needs it, does it make sense?.

I didn't want to make the images smaller so I could fit a speech balloon, and I only cropped out the lower part of the sentiment later in the process as, at first I wanted it to look like they were leaning against it, or each other.

Colored the images with Tri Blend Markers from Spectrum Noir.

Matted the panel and adhered it to a cardbase.

White gel pen for the eyes.

You can find the digis in the Whimsy Store:

AAA Cards Challenge #260: Sketch

This fortnight we have a sketch and as  always you can flip or rotate it if you like as long as we can see it.

Now I have to admit it took me a while to find the right stamps and images and , you'd think I might consider this when I make the sketches, but nope I just go in with a blanc mind..hehe

I've used the Marianne Design  Panda's and I've stamped them on watercolor card with Versafine.

At first I did it on my cardbase with Copic safe ink, as I wanted to  use my Copics, but it would bleed through the cardstock to the inside and all the black on the panda's made stamping difficult.

So I went with watercolor card and Karin Markers

Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and the clouds is a Stencil also Marianne Design and I've used whatever was left on my blu inkblending brushes, looks like Broken China.

AAA Card Challenges March: Geometric #59

Hello, this month we play with Geometric shapes on your birthday cards.

For my card I first went blobs, liked it but then I realized organic shapes aren't geometric..so onwards...My second card looks a lot like the end result, but I can't stand the look of it, so onto the third and final version.

I've inkblended rectangles with Distress ink Lost Shadow, then laid circles on top, And As Distress  inks are transparent, you can see the shapes underneath, something I loved about my organic blobs.

I've used  Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Mermaid lagoon.

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Brushed Greetings II and I stamped it with Versafine Clair ink Morning Mist.

Splattered with a bit of black metallic ink, Ok not perfect circles but I needed something organic  and a bit of shine. I think the circles look like floating Planets
