Hello, this fortnight we have a sketch again and as always you can rotate or flip the sketch, as long as we can see it.
The first Idea I came up with I veto-ed, I don't like it.
The second card is better, but still not as cool as I saw it in my head.
It was kind of inspired by a recently released Waffle Flower set, don't know the name, but it's mid century like shapes.
So for my card I diecut the "waves"with a slider channel actually, it's from Joy Crafts, but I thought the shape was fun and similar to the WF set...maybe don't have it. seen the Laura Bassen video only. I considered to make three waves, but instead for the third layer I stamped the Happy Birthday from Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) in a darker shade.
I wanted to diecut the sun from yellow card, but too many layer is not as CAS as we like, so I inkblended what ever yellow was left on my brush and I used a Marianne Design Stencil, the sun is quite at the top , so I flipped the stencil in an effort to elongate the rays, but also to keep them on the left, to ensure max white space. Then I diecut the light house and seagull from Gummiapan, but somehow the lighthouse felt too intricate to me to go with the "waves", thought I's swap it for a palm tree, but the lighthouse and tree are floating mid air, and I don't know how to fix that and with the lighthouse it looked better, might be the rays of the sun going all the way down, not sure. But I am sure you can do a better job with this sketch;)
I feel there's a third card in my future haha
For my 1st Card I've used a Clearly Besotted stencil: Brush Strokes and I applied Distress inks, kind of what was on my brushes, one for water one for grass, but you can do what ever you want.
I thought about embossing the daisies from the sketch with white, but came across my Whimsy Stamps Build a pond dieset and cut the shapes from white cardstock and adhered them onto the cardbase.
Made a third card by applying Distress inks through a circle mask, in rainbow order and the added a white gel pen detail as if they were gumballs, I think that's my favorite card so far.
Sentiment is also Whimsy Stamps (Simple Sentiment Strips) and I've used a Card deco blue ink.
