My Favorite Things Camp Create 2017, day 1: wonderful watercolor, with video

My Favorite things has launched it's camp create of 2017.
Day 1 (Monday) is/was : wonderful watercolor.

For my card I chose to use the Giraffing me crazy.
I made a forest with Talens Ecoline watercolors on some (cheaper) watercolor paper.
I've used many greens  like 600,601,602,640,654,656,657,665,666 and 676 and a purple 548.
I wetted the watercolor paper first and then dabbed on the colors, trying to made a dappled forest with purple flowers.
I know what you're thinking right now...but there are some species of giraffes that actually live in rainforests, I checked before filming lol.

When I was happy with the coverage I dried the panel with my heattool.

For the window I tried making a partial diecut thing, and well I trashed two, wasn't  my day, even cut into my finger as my scalpel knife was a bit sharp...anyway I then decided to just plonk the two critters on top.

Once dry I used taperunner to adhere the watercolor panel onto the cardbase.
To make the window I used a circle die and cut it out. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink. It's also from Giraffing me crazy.
I mounted the panel with foamtape and adhered it to the base.

The giraffes I stamped onto Crafter's Companion Neenah paper with MFT hybrid black ink.
I might have switched somewhere to Simon Says Stamp intense black though, as it was on my desk and they look quite similar. But they're both alcohol marker and waterproof.

I colored the beasts with Spectrum Illustrator markers and attached them onto the card with tape runner and where needed with foamtape, because of the height difference.

  2. So very cute. The background looks like camo to me and perfect backdrop for the giraffes.
