You're a pearl

I've combined the Less is More challenge sketch with the Yes Vriginia challenge, summer project.

In fact I made two with the  same sketch, going up after this one.

I've stamped the mermaid on Crafter's Companion Neenah paper with Simon Says Stamp intense black ink and colored it  with Spectrum Noir markers whilst  watching Saturday kitchen...have you seen it? that domed  mirrored chocolate mousse is calling my name!

I cut the image out using the Brother Scan N cut.
I used a brown kraft like card, but this has a bit of shimmer in it. I die cut out the curves with stitched dies.

Then traced the area left open onto the cardbase and inkblended Distress inks on there: mermaid lagoon, salty ocean, faded  jeans and a bit of blue print sketch.
Then spritzed on water and then splattered white and brushed pewter Distress sprays.

I stamped the sentiment from the same C.C Design set (under the sea) and made a fishtail banner out of it...for obvious reasons ;-)

I thought the kraft might look like sand or a beach.

  4. Such a sweet mermaid, Maaike, and you have coloured her perfectly! The shimmery kraft card has a look of sand as well so works well for this design. A great take on the sketch. Thank you for sharing with us at Less is More this week :)
