AAA Cards Challenge #229: Small & Few + Baked Goods

This fortnight we're approaching Christmas and so my baked goods (optional twist) is  Santa Gnome like figure with a Rudolph cookie.

The main challenge is Small & Few and we're wondering how small can you go?.

My image is a digi I found on Etsy (Chonnies artwork) and I printed it on Copic friendly paper. I added the sentiment while I was adjusting the image.

I colored the image with Copic and Graph-it markers. Added the panel to a cardbase with tape runner.

Whimsy Stamps: Frosty Whishes

Hello, today I'm showing you another fabulous Digi from Whimsy Stamps,Illustrated by Dustin Pike: Frosty Whishes.

I've printed the digi on Copic safe paper with my laser printer, also printed another panel with the sentiment with the laser printer, so I could foil it in a navy or royal blue, nice and electric blue? not sure, but perfect for Winter.

I then diecut a circle from said panel and traced it onto the card base. I then applied Distress inks: Tumbled glass and Shaded Lilac behind the opening, splattered with water and white paint, let it dry.

Colored the image with  Graphit brush and  Copic Markers and mounted it with foam tape.. I also mounted the window panel with foam tape and adhered iot to the cardbase, then mounted the image on top.

Less is More Challenge: Outdoors

There's a new challenge over at the Less is More  Blog: Outdoor.

I made my card  with the Katzelkraft Les Pingouins and a sentiment from Impronte D'Autore from a set that has a Yeti with coffee too, but somehow I thought the Penguins were easier...they weren't ;-) Happy Yeti set would have been  better, I couldn't get it to stamp nicely as the set is new to me. Same with the penguins to be honest I think it's my inkpad I thought oh I'll color the little beaks and details and then restamp with Versafine to get a nice black penguin....I had 6 image in my stampingtool and sadly the paper moved a tiny bit and this was the only image that was still OK .

Do inkpads get greasy from the stamps, feels like they transfer something? I don't know just wondering if refilling sometimes is useless if the linnen is  messed up.

for the background I inkblended Distress inks, I meant these for my Christmas cards, but too much work, my shoulders were aching after one, so..nope, but handy for this card of course. I;ve used: Faded Jeans, Prize Ribbon and Salty Ocean.

Then Splattered with water, white paint, silver watercolor and Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn, let it dry and stamped the sentiment underneath.

Mounted the penguin with foamtape and adhered him on top pf the cardbase, I've used the white as a snowbank.

Whimsy Stamps: Frosty Hugs and Frosty Wishes

Hello, this week I've combined 2  Whimsy Stamps Digi sets from Dustin Pike: Frosty Whishes and Frosty hugs to get both penguins. I made them similar sizes, but slightly different so It would look like one is waving at the other penguin in the back.

The sentiment is from Frosty Hugs and I printed it onto a panel with my laser printer and then foiled it, hard to catch on camera, but it's a nice royal blue now and so shiny, perfect for Christmas card.

Then diecut the circle from the panel and traced the opening onto the cardbase, applied Distress inks, basically what ever was left on my blending brushes and boy  was there a lot left!, they're soaking now because I didn't intend to go this dark, but I like it!, splattered with water and then white acrylic paint. Cut a bit of scrap card into a snowbank and glued it on top.

I've mounted the panel and penguins with foamtape and adhered them onto the cardbase.

The image I 've colored with alcohol markers like Graphit Brush and Copic markers, I like the fineline option on the Graphit and there was a need for this mini nib ;-)

AAA Cards Challenge #228: Along the Edge + Rainbows

This fortnight we play along the edge again ,with the twist of rainbow(s).

The  twist was chosen by Ceal.

For my card I masked off an area and applied Distress inks ( Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry), through a Create a Smile Stamps Stencil ( Happy Mail),

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted (Tiny type) and I stamped it with Versafine ink.

I also made a second card as now I look at it again, I kind of miss the brightness, the intensity of the rainbow colors, so I tried again. And for my second card I did use all the same Distress inks, but in  different order and with the addition of Uncharted Mariner for the edges.

I ripped a  strip of masking paper or removable labels from Herma, very nice and affordable and it doesn't rip my coated DCP paper :-D...Splattered with water, white paint and Shimmer Spritz for that Northern lights feel.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Bitty Holiday Wishes.

The house diecut is from Jeanine's Art (JAD10160) and the Polar Bear is from Ave Creative )Love to Craft) and I got it from Action, that means Sold out is gone forever. I thought the ripped edge might looks like a snowbank and a lonely Polar Bear walking around the one house.

For more information or to play along the AAA Cards Challenge,

see this.

I'm entering the card into the current Less is More Challenge: use 2 or more colours from the colour wheel.

Naughty for sure

Hello today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps Digi stamp Grinchy Naughty list.

I am pretty sure you recognize the main character and his name from a Christmas Movie, so I felt I should make him green

I'm not entirely sure why he's on a toilet, but a sentiment like: "Oh crap, it's that time again" would have been nice too, but I only thought of it now.... I made my sentiment while I was prepping the digi stamp. I felt his expression went with it. The puppy dressed up as a reindeer is so funny and cute.

I colored the image with alcohol markers. and mounted it with foamtape. the background is Distress inks, I think Shaded Lilac and prize ribbon, not entirely sure anymore, sorry; my inkblending tool just do what they want as they retain so much ink ;-)

Adhered the image on top and then filled in the gap between  the images with a matching marker. in real life it matches much better than on the photo, but trust me on this.

Also mounted the sentiment with foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

You can find this fun digi in the Whimsy Store: https://whimsystamps.com/collections/november-2022-digital/products/grinchy-naughty-lists-digital-stamp

made a panel with a round window that could be the sea, or a pool, you choose, to make it I traced the opening onto the cardbase and then applied Distress ink in an array of blues (tumbled glass, mermaid lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans).
Then I splattered with water as it's Distress inks and it's mandatory ;-)

AAA Birthday Challenge #43 :Monochrome

The AAA Birthday Challenge this month is all about one color , a monochrome card if you will.

I chose pink with Rose bud and Angel pink from Memento ink.

I inked the Nellie Snellen silhouette stamp (SIL015) with both colors and spritzed it lightly with water then stamped it.

Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Simple sentiment strips and I also used pink to stamp  it. Few pink enamel dots, it's all pink but fab.

AAA Birthday isn't a CAS challenge, but my heart is a CAS heart so it's a minimalist card, but I love it. And  I thought I could have stamped the silhouette a few times

I think with it all in the one colour
family it might get chaotic. I look forward to your makes.

I made a second  card  too, I was playing with pink and Tealish Distress inks and I liked how the teal one turned out (Distress inks Peacock feathers and Salvaged patina). Nowadays there's  layering stencils, but I just used a few out of my stash and well some of them looked better than others. the teal one being the best. I also swiped Peacock feathers ink on a piece of white card, so I could match the sentiment. to the background (Carlijn Design Grote Teksten) Hoera mean Hooray.

Grinchy has proof....Naughty looks good on you

Hello today I  have a bonus card for you, I'm using the Whimsy Stamps: Grinchy Texts.

Instead of texting it looks like he's taking a selfie or he's showing you he's got proof:  you were caught in the act...but naughty looks good on you...

OK it made sense in my head, so I typed the sentiment whilst I was editing the digi image. Then I printed it onto  alcohol marker paper and colored it with a variety of brands. I'm not entirely sure what clothes  the Grinchy (or Grinch) actually wears except the Santa suit) turns out I almost colored him the same as the image in the shop, but I gave mine black shoes and a pink phone, because I wanted to. I did almost give him a blue lederhosen but then realized lederhosen should probably be leder..leather..anyway could be jeans to.

Cut the panel smaller and mounted it with foamtape for some added dimension and adhered it to the cardbase.

You can find the digi in the Whimsy Shop: https://whimsystamps.com/collections/november-2022-digital/products/grinchy-texts-digital-stamp

Santa Down Under

Hi today I'm using the Whimsy Stamps Digi:  Down Under Santa.

If I could choose where to spend Winter/Christmas , it would be Australia too because it's Summer then. I like Summer ;-)

I printed the digi and cut it out, then colored it with alcohol markers.

For the background I've applied Distress inks in a tropical sunset like color combo: Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Fossilized Amber and Mustard Seed. I've applied these directly on my cardbase. Matched the gaps in between the characters with the background, then mounted the image with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase.

Sentiment was printed at the same time as the digi and I also mounted it with foam tape and adhered it to the cardbase, it doesn't come with the set, I made it up.
