Shimmery background

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is: Add a little sparkle.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is: add a diecut/punch, showcasing Birch Press design.

Now I am not 100% sure but I think Birch Press (and Poppy Stamp) are sister companies of Memory Box, and as I have no Birch Press things, I used the Memory Box die called Enchanted deer collage.

I diecut it from a sturdy panel and then stamped the sentiment with Simon Says Stamp Presents and ornaments set.
For the shimmery background I used Distress inks in a variety of blues and lilacs and I watered it down with Shimmer spray from Tsukineko (sparkle ). I layered a few colors on top.
I started with water and a brush, but I switched to the acrylic block stamping, by adding color to the block, spritz it with Shimmer Spray and "stamp" in onto watercolor paper. Heat setting in between.
I think I used: shaded lilac, tumbled glass and peacock feathers on the first layer, but it was too subtle, so then I grabbed wilted violet, picked raspberry, mermaid lagoon and broken china or salty ocean as well.
Mounted the panel with foam tape and  added some sparkle with silver rhinestones, the elliptical ones kinda matched the leaves in the diecut, and I also added rhinestone noses, not red ones as they aren't reindeer, but it hints at Rudolph I think anyway.
