There's cake right?

 Hello, today I'm using the Monster Birthday Digi from Whinsy Stamps and from the Krista Heij Barber  line.

I printed the digi and colored it with alcohol marker, matted the panel and stuck in on the cardbase.

I omitted the sentiment from the set, it's fun with the half eaten sentiment, which gave me the idea to use these sentiments, also Whimsy Stamps (a clear set called Simple Sentiment Strips)

Added Glossy accents to the eye ball for some extra shine.

I wanted to have a fun and bright colored monster and felt anything added would  take away from the blue monster, my wink at the well known cookie monster.

 There's a new challenge on the Less is More blog: Orange!

My card took longer in my head, deciding what to do, orange leaves for fall? pumpkin, Halloween?

I went with this really old foamstamp and two colors of orange for a gradient on the pumpkin.

The sentiment is also two tones or orange and it's from Whimsy Stamps Spooky Kitties set.

I thought about using a new silhouette cat stamp on top, but it's not a Halloween cat, so I left it out.

Then I thought, what if I mask it with heat embossing and inkblend black  as it's Halloween, but I felt that might not we considered white/empty space, especially if the inkblending is a bit splotchy.

So ultra Clean and Simple.

Teen Witch

 

Hello, today I'm showing you the Whimsy Stamps Digi Teen Witch from the Krista Heij Barber Line.

I printed it, then cut it out to the best of my abilities, frankly I'm too blind to do fine small cutting haha, but I did want the white rim to make the bats and moon pop from the background. I colored the image mostly with Graph it Brush markers as they have a fineliner nib (0.5mm) to get into the tight corners.

At first I made a different background, but I didn't like it, so I pull out the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Designer paper: Lost in Space for my starry background.

I then stamped the sentiment from yet more Whimsy Stamps: Spooky Kitties.

Adhered the background with tape runner and mounted the image with foamtape.

AAA Card Challenges: #247 Sketch for a teen card

 

Hello, this fortnight we've got a sketch for you, specifically one aimed at teens, boys or girls, doesn't matter, 

I've used a Snowboarder from Marianne design stamps(HT1668) stamped it, cut it out with the coordinating dies and then colored it with Copic markers. White gelpen for some shiny details.

For the colors behind the snowboarder I've also used Marianne design (EC0162Eline's brushes) with Memento inks. Only in blue tones as I felt that looked like snow, maybe waves even if it were a surfer.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Bitty Birthday Wishes) and I stamped in  the same blue Memento ink, I think was Bahama Blue.

Mounted the Snowboarder with Foamtape and adhered it to the cardbase.

As usual you have to weeks to enter you card here.

Aww you shouldn't have

 Hello, today I'm sharing my card for the Dudley Eyeball digi from Whimsy Stamps and the Dustin Pike Line.

I've prepped the digi and sentiment on the pc and later I've removed the "you can keep this treat"as I thought that's not funny, changed it in Photoshop once I finished the card into a few kind of sentiments like, Aww you shouldn't have, of For me? you shouldn't have, no really you...you know what people say when they get a gift or , say, a bunch of flowers..Looked weird so I opted for this sentiment. something like: Erhmmm I'm allergic to eyeballs could be fun, or Can I still choose Trick? Anything goes at Halloween!

Otherwise it's a simple process: colored with Copics, gave him green cheeks as if he's feeling sick..I hope that comes across and I've added Glossy accents on the eyeball and slime, which , if colored red, might look more spooky and blue for  the wet eyeball, thought green, with a splash of glitterpen was best.

Hello Pumpkin

 Hello, today I'm using the new digi set again: Gargoyle and friends from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike.

I'm using the Gargoyle sitting on a pumpkin, which inspired the sentiment from another Whimsy Stamps set (clear set Spooky Kitties).

For the background I've inkblended Distress inks through a mask: Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon and Crackling Campfire.

The image I've printed , cut out and colored with alcohol markers, white gel pen on the eyes, then I've mounted the image with foamtape to make it stand proud of the background.

Superstitions

 

Hello, today I'm showing you the Whimsy Stamps Digi from the Dustin Pike line, Dudley Stitions.

My black cat Charlie, of course, is not bad luck, just a tiny bit evil ;-), but I don't believe in superstitions.

Anyway, for my card I've ordered the Whimsy Stamps EEK dieset, but I haven't received it yet and now I wonder if it needs it.

I will stick it on and take a second picture.

The background was made by diecutting a circle from masking paper  and masking the bottom of the card, I thought it could be a roof top, street, anything straight frankly, it's just to ground the scene.

After masking, I applied Distress inks Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch, then splattered with water and white acrylic paint for my stars.

Let is dry, then removed the circle mask and added the negative shape, so I could add color to the moon. I've just used what ever was left on my yellow and orange blending brushes,.

Colored the digi stamps with alcohol markers and mounted them with foamtape.

Scary Old

 

Hello, today I'm showing you a new Dustin Pike Digi, Dudley Spider, available at Whimsy Stamps of course.

I've masked the bottom of my cardbase and inkblended Distress inks above it (Milled Lavender, Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserves) and then Splattered it with a shimmer pen. On the picture it looks darker and more of a harsh blend than it's in real life, the colors actually make a fabulous gradient, it's just my dark rental.

For my card I prepped and printed the digi and then printed it, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers (Graphit Brush), mounted it with foam tape and adhered it onto the cardbase. a few white gel pen details on Dudley.

I've used Versafine to stamp the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps (clearset) Monster Birthday.

I want Candy...

 

I waaaaant candy, isn't that a song? yes? no? it's been stuck in my head anyway,, maybe a variation, doesn't matter, it's still funny.

For my card I've used the Whimsy Stamps Digi Mr.Mummy from the Krista Heij Barber line.

The sentiment and a few candies are also included, I didn't use the candy bits in the end.

For the background I've used a mask I made and Distress inks: Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord and Villainous Poison, then splattered with water and silver paint.

I've printed the digis, cut them out and them colored them with alcohol markers.

I thought the Mister Mummy looks more like a girl with pigtails chasing the candy. For a minute I thought I should color her accordingly, but went for bandage colors.

Stuck the sentiment on with liquid glue and the Mummy with foamtape.

Fairy Happy

 Hello, there's a new challenge over at the Less is More blog, this fortnight it's : ONE layer card and photo inspiration.

I've mostly stuck to the daisy theme.

For y card, I cut a cardbase from Copic paper and stamped the images with Extreme black ink and the sentiment with Versafine ink. The set is from My Favorite Things (Fairy Happy) and I coloerd it with Copic markers.It does seep through to the inside, but it's one layer, so I had to, might fix that later.

I then added Nuvo Shimmer pen to the wings and white gel pen to the eyes

AAA Card Challenge #246: Sketch and the Option of a baby card

 

Hello, this fortnight we have a sketch and an optional twist to make it a baby card.

As usually you can rotate and or flip the sketch as long as we can see it in your CAS card.

I rotated the card to make it a portrait scene.

The dots are just for placement of your images or focal point, In a line. I've used three "dots" after trying a few designs.

for my card I've used a Mintopia stampset called Voy Volando  and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted (Tiny Type). and the cloud stencil from Marianne Design, I think it doesn't show well on camera as I used almost dry inkblending brushes for a faint line. 

The stampset comes with coordinating dies and so two of my dots are clouds and in the middle a bear cub in an airplane. I stamped it all with My Favorite Things Extreme black ink and colored it with Copic Markers.

I then adhered the  clouds with liquid glue and mounted the plane with foamtape so I could make a scene

I'm torn....

 Hello, today I'm using two of the new digis from Whimsy stamps and the Dustin Pike Collection: Dudley Graveyard and the cat from Dudley Stition, seems fitting for the scene and the Diecut Eek!, also Whimsy Stamps.

I've combined the digi's in Photoshop and then printed it, I mounted a sheet of black card to a "normal" white cardbase, then I thought the straight edges were a shame, so I ripped the edges and I think it looks kinda Spooky.

I've colored the scene with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers, glued it to the cardbase and glued the pale yellow "Eek" too, I thought it would complement the yellow in the Dragon and or it would be a Moon color.

It's Fall ..is it?

 Hello, today I'm showing you the Krista Hey Barber Fall Fox digistamp, available at Whimsy Stamps webshop.

It's a rather simple concept: prep the digi and sentiment, print it, cut it smaller than the cardbase, stick it on skewed, so cut it out again and use liquid glue this time to add it to the cardbase.

Then I colored it, not how I do it usually, but my paper was so curved , it felt better to stick it down today, might be the moisture in the air, don't know.

I've used alcohol markers for my scene and I stuck to mostly green leaves, starting to change color and falling down. I've also colored the letters in the sentiment in the same colors as the leaves.

Happy Boo day

 Hello, is it really that time again? yes roll on Halloween, although it's not as big in the Netherlands as in the U.S.A., it has to be the best time of the year for me.

for my card I've used one of the images from the Gargoyle and Friends  set, a digi set from Whimsy Stamps and Dustin Pike.

I've printed the digi, cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers, then mounted it with foam tape and set it aside. I wanted it to look like stone, so I dotted the shadows to give it a hint of speckles in the stone, but I don't like that all over the image.

The background is inkblended Distress inks on the cardbase: Speckled Egg, Stormy Sky,  Hickory Smoke and Black Soot., I've splattered with water and some of it went under the masking tape, so I placed my image strategically later. But I've also splattered with Acrylic paints in gold, purple and white, I thought it could be a moody nigh tsky of confetti.

The sentiment is from  another Whimsy Stamps (Clear) set called Monster Birthday and I stamped it with Versafine black ink.

AAA Birthday Card Challenges August: #52 Anything Birthday Goes

 Hello this month Anything Birthday Goes.

For my card I've used  digital stamps from Miezo, 

I also printed a Polar Bear going to the beach and I wanted to use it for another blog post, but it was too crowded for me.

I printed the digis and colored them with alcohol markers.

The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday (Alligators and Crocodiles) and I stamped it with Versafine ink.

My border was supposed to look more beach sand like, but it turnoed out darker than I inteded (Distress inks Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso and some Mermaid Lagoon). I cut a mask and then inkblended the sea first, removed the one mask and adhered the mirrored mask but I left a little white as if it's the sea foam...made the blue fade into the white for  CAS feeling.
